What is The YouthVantage Alliance?

Introduced in 2025, The YouthVantage Alliance is the home of Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, Tarrant County Kids, and an expanding family of youth-focused services. The YouthVantage Alliance is a nonprofit umbrella organization created to extend the impact of proven mentorship models and allow us to connect more Tarrant County youth with programs and services that will empower them to reach their full potential.

What does this mean for Girls Inc. of Tarrant County and Tarrant County Kids?

Girls Inc. of Tarrant County remains a top priority. We are steadfast in our mission to deliver impactful programs that inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Tarrant County Kids also continues to serve its mission to support working families with safe and enriching child care.

These proven, youth-focused organizations operate under the same executive and board leadership, and program staff remain aligned to their specific service areas. At the same time, Girls Inc and Tarrant County Kids now benefit from the shared leadership and expanded capacity offered by The YouthVantage Alliance. The YouthVantage Alliance provides a broader platform for us to strengthen these existing efforts and use our expertise to find new ways to meet the growing needs of families across Tarrant County.

What is the driving force behind this change?

Over the past two years, we’ve spoken with our partners and listened to families. What we heard was clear: the need for our services extends beyond girls alone. School leaders have told us that all youth need access to programs that strengthen academic success, build confidence, encourage healthy friendships, and prepare them for the future. Families want more opportunities for their children to explore STEM with curiosity and develop the skills and habits they need to make positive decisions, preparing them for a bright future.

We also see growing needs among boys in Texas, including challenges in academic achievement, behavioral health, and future readiness, and a lack of positive peer relationships and role models. For our community to thrive, we need to address these issues and give more young people access to programs that improve literacy, build confidence, foster positive connections with adults and peers, and prepare them for the future. The YouthVantage Alliance is our proactive response to meet those needs and create a seamless network of support for families and the community.

How will The YouthVantage Alliance address these needs?

The YouthVantage Alliance is piloting a new leadership program, Vantage Point, for boys and young men. The goal is to support academic success, character development, and future-ready skills. We are working closely with our school partners to introduce mentorship programs that help boys grow, lead, and feel supported, with experiences designed specifically for their development—something Girls Inc. has mastered for girls. In fact, the Vantage Point initiative is the perfect complement to that work, as it will leverage our 50 years of experience delivering single-gender programs with proven results.

This expansion strengthens our ability to sustain and grow Girls Inc. while meeting broader community needs.
The YouthVantage Alliance will build upon the expertise and the trust we have fostered with our many community partners and allow us to empower even more young people to lead and achieve through school and community-based programs.

Why is The YouthVantage Alliance the right organization for this work?

Our programs change lives. Ninety percent of participants in Girls Inc. of Tarrant County have improved their reading performance, 88 percent reported feeling more optimistic about school, and 82 percent gained confidence in their ability to lead and speak up for themselves. Our STEM initiatives inspired 38 percent more participants to enroll in advanced STEM courses, opening the door to new career opportunities. The YouthVantage Alliance advances that work, broadens our reach, and opens the door to new opportunities for us to deliver the high quality, research-informed mentorship and support we are known for and that our young people deserve.
