Over the past two years, we’ve spoken with our partners and listened to families. What we heard was clear: the need for our services extends beyond girls alone. School leaders have told us that all youth need access to programs that strengthen academic success, build confidence, encourage healthy friendships, and prepare them for the future. Families want more opportunities for their children to explore STEM with curiosity and develop the skills and habits they need to make positive decisions, preparing them for a bright future.
We also see growing needs among boys in Texas, including challenges in academic achievement, behavioral health, and future readiness, and a lack of positive peer relationships and role models. For our community to thrive, we need to address these issues and give more young people access to programs that improve literacy, build confidence, foster positive connections with adults and peers, and prepare them for the future. The YouthVantage Alliance is our proactive response to meet those needs and create a seamless network of support for families and the community.
